Accessibility statement
How accessible this website is, what we are doing about the gaps, and how to get content in another format.
Last updated: 12 October 2026
About this statement
This statement applies to tlc-uk.org, run by The Training and Learning Company. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this site, including the learners and employers we work with across health and social care, culinary, education, safeguarding and wellbeing. You should be able to zoom to 200% without text spilling off the screen, navigate the site with a keyboard, use it with a screen reader, and skip straight to the main content on every page. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this site is
The site was built with a skip link, visible focus styles, labelled form fields and text alternatives for images, and animation is reduced if your device prefers reduced motion. We know some parts are not yet fully accessible:
- CONFIRM AFTER TESTING — replace these bullets with what the test found, for example:
- the sector spotlight on the home page advances automatically;
- the policy reading window may trap keyboard focus in some browsers;
- some decorative text has low contrast;
- the Google Map on the Contact page has no text alternative beyond the address.
We are working through these.
What to do if you cannot access part of the site
If you need information from the site in another format — large print, plain text, an accessible PDF, or a conversation by telephone — email enquiries@tlc-uk.org or call 01792 700611 and we will provide it within 10 working days. If you find a problem not listed here, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please tell us the same way.
Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the Equality Act 2010. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
