Overview

The Emergency First Aid At Work course is a 1 day lifesaving course, giving essential lifesaving emergency techniques and information on how they can be correctly applied. The course is recommended as a minimum level of training for persons in low risk workplace environments, and will assist in meeting regulatory requirements.

Course Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide sufficient knowledge and confidence to deal with accidents and emergencies until the arrival of qualified medical assistance. The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at work is a qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace.

    • Aims and principles of first aid
    • What to do in an emergency
    • Management of the unconscious casualty
    • Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
    • Assessment and treatment of burns and scalds
    • Dealing with seizures
    • Choking (Adult)
    • Resuscitation (Adult CPR)
    • Shock
    • Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations
