Overview

This Food Allergy Awareness training course is of vital importance to individuals working within multiple sectors of food catering, manufacture, and retail. It has been designed to assist the learner identify the 14 allergens, identify their risk and explain the symptoms caused by these allergens.

Course Objectives

Allergic reactions and intolerances to all substances, but particularly foods, are increasing in the population. This half day course has been designed to assist the learner identify the 14 allergens, identify their risk and explain the symptoms caused by these allergens.

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Latest allergenic ingredient law and updates
  • Common mistakes when working with allergenic ingredients
  • Defining food allergies, food intolerances, and Coeliac disease
  • 14 food allergens named in legislation, and the dangers of hidden ingredients
  • How to make your premises allergy-ready
  • Identifying allergenic attacks and emergency First Aid
